Areas of interest (professional / personal):

Aaron's research interests include anaerobic microbial ecology, bioremediation, and metal-microbe interactions. When he's not teaching or in the lab, Aaron enjoys spending time with his family camping, hiking and bike riding. He also enjoys experimenting with single-celled fungi in fermentation experiments at home (results vary). Most recently he has explored the scholarship of teaching and learning by exploring student metacognition and the learning experience.
